Steve KlassenSteve loved the experience he had last year on Outtatown and is excited to be preparing for Outtatown: round two.

Prior to signing on with the program, Steve spent five years at Columbia Bible College. After three years at CBC, Steve felt called to the mission field and participated in a program called TREK. This program led Steve to spend seven months in Portugal working in a new church plant. It was an amazing experience for him as he learned God’s faithfulness first hand. He graduated the following year with a BA in Inter-Cultural Studies.

While at CBC, Steve was involved in student leadership as well as athletics. As a member of the men’s basketball team for four years Steve has been blessed with good friends and a strong community feeling.

Once again Steve is excited about the challenges and joys that the upcoming year will bring and the fulfillment and joy that comes from working for the Lord.

Tobi FarrellTobi is a small town girl at heart who grew up in rural Ontario. You can usually find her wearing a hooded sweatshirt and drinking tea out of a giant mug. In her free time you might find her going for a run or taking some down time with Jason Upton.

Tobi recently graduated from the university of Waterloo with a Psych degree. She took the unconventional road in obtaining her degree. Tobi began her education at Emmanuel Bible College. Then she wanted to practically apply what she learned. She decided the best way to do this was to go on a 10 month missions program called TREK in Abbotsford BC.

While on TREK, Tobi was inspired by the teachings of Kingdom Ministries. This motivated her to move to California and intern with them for a year. While in California she began her psych degree. Through her internship and experiences in California, Tobi came to passionately believe that prayer changes lives. She is eager about teaching other believers to understand and use authority in prayer.

Tobi has always been able to combine her leadership skills with cooking for the masses at TREK, SOAR, Alpha programs and Camp Kahquah.

Tobi is thrilled to join the Outtatown leadership team. She is enthusiastically anticipating what God will do!

Paul Swanson

Paul Swanson hails from Minnesota. He is best known for his neighborhood fishing derby trophies and his awe-inspiring kickball prowess (an alum of the acclaimed Minneapolis-based kickball team – The Bloody Noses). He also really likes swimming in lakes.

Paul's studies took him to Covenant Bible College (Strathmore, Alberta) and North Park University (Chicago, Illinois). His post graduate work consisted of filling vending machines and traipsing about in Yosemite National Park.

Paul returned to Covenant Bible College where he worked on staff for three years. This time at CBC deepened his enthusiasm for community and discipleship in the way of Jesus.

This past year Paul has been a work intern at the Center for Action and Contemplation in Albuquerque, New Mexico. His experiences at the CAC reaffirmed his stirrings toward a contemplative stance coupled with social action that he first witnessed in the lives of Jesus, Thomas Merton, Dorothy Day and his mother.

Paul enjoys traveling across the backyard almost as much as he does the ocean. At this moment, his favorite destinations are Haiti, South Africa, Norway, Judith Gap (Montana), and a backporch with family and friends.

Paul looks forward to working for another organization that starts with the letter ‘C’.

Jenilee ForgieOnce described (by herself) as a riddle wrapped in an enigma wrapped in a vest, Jenilee is not nearly as mysterious as her name implies, and she wants you to know a little bit about her!

Raised on the mean streets of Mississauga, Ontario, her formal schooling (if you’re into that) includes a Bachelor of Commerce – Major in Economics from Ryerson University in Toronto. Halfway through her degree God threw a wrench in her plans for corporate domination – He sent a couple of incredible people her way to introduce her to a friend of theirs named Jesus.

Naturally Jenilee’s priorities (and life) changed from there! One day Jenilee hopes to use her interest in economics for good not evil. Or maybe she’ll become a youth pastor…or a teacher, or a drifter, or open a laundromat, or care for orphans...or all of the aforementioned! (a girl can dream). She doesn’t know really…she wants to keep herself available for suggestions from God.

Jenilee spent the past year working alongside an excellent team of youth pastors at her church, learning not only about the intricate workings of the youth mind, but about relationships, God, and bettering her relationship with God! She is always eager to learn more, more, MORE!

Jenilee loooooves playing and listening to music, reading, chocolate milk, travelling, frolicking in the out-of-doors and quoting The Simpsons. Her favourite book, movie, and food is Fried Green Tomatoes.
